Pre-Wedding/Special Occasion Beauty Tips
When it comes to a glowing complexion what we put into our bodies and how we treat our skin and ourselves has a huge impact on how we look- no skin care product can overcome certain damage.
Here are a few hints to take the best care of your skin and get that healthy radiant glow.
Having clear skin is sometimes a luxury due to wedding stress. However, plenty of rest and a well balanced diet can help diminish some of the problem areas. It’s also wise to establish a daily routine of cleansing, toning and moisturizing. Consider having a professional beauty regime in plan in the months prior to your wedding date- consult with your trained beauty therapist.
(If you have been neglecting your complexion start right away to improve it. It is never too late. What you do today will show up in your skin in the future. The choice is yours…)
Sleepless nights fraught with excitement and worry go with the territory. But a bride-to-be can remedy tired eyes naturally by making eye pads from sliced cucumber, chamomile tea bags or cotton pads soaked in ice water. Ensure to also remove all your mascara the night before your wedding for optimum results on your wedding day.
Shaping your brows can make a huge difference with the overall look, keep them neat & tidy. Have them waxed (and lip too if necessary) a week prior to the wedding- as waxing the day or days before your wedding will be visible through on your makeup. Invest in some tweezers to use the day/night before your wedding to remove those stray hairs.
Do your teeth need a clean and scale at the dentist or a quick whitening application that you can easily grab from the local supermarket.
Keep those lips moisturised, avoiding cracked lips.
Don’t wait until the last minute. Consult with your stylist about four months before the wedding date to discuss hairstyles that will flatter you. Establish a hair care and conditioning regimen and stick to it.
HANDS & NAILS
Use a hand cream or even a hand treatment- as everyone will want to see your ring on the day… A short or medium-length is preferable for nails kept in top condition. Get a French manicure or use neutral polish for an elegant look.
Get at least 7 to 8 hours sleep every night. A lack of sleep will show up under your eyes as dark circles or bags. Proper rest will also benefit your body and your life.
Ensure you drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day to keep your skin hydrated. It is best to spread the consumption of water in small amounts over the course of the day to be sure it is properly absorbed.
Eat a balanced diet, what we put in our bodies will show on our skin. If you eat fatty foods and junk your skin will reflect that, so give your skin proper nutrition.
Finally maintain a regular exercise program. Exercise gets the blood moving and creates a healthy body and does wonders for the stress you’re probably feeling.
